Where was our favorite Bear Scout during the hottest week of the year so far? At Scout Camp! I swear, AZ needs to realize that summer here is for INDOOR activities, and things like scout camp should be scheduled on Saturdays in January when the weather is pleasant. From 2-9:30 p.m., last Thursday-Saturday, our favorite scout was at the Lost Pueblo Camp in Phoenix. Activities included BB guns, archery, and soccer in 110 degrees. They did accomodate for the heat though, sprinklers were on during the soccer games, and they spent a lot of time in the pool. The leaders actually fared the worst in the heat since they didn't get wet. Blake can attest to that, he sweated through his shift Saturday afternoon.
I love this shot of their dirty bums. Isn't that what being a boy is all about?

Cute pictures. Thanks to Blake for going! I don't understand either why they do it at that time of day. Crazy scouts.
Gosh, I don't miss those 110 degree summer days! It is finally getting nice here in Washington, it was a balmy 75 today :)
Misery. Good thing kids are resiliant! They don't care how hot it is when they get to shoot a bb gun! But poor Blake!!! kelli
Conner looks like he had a blast! Sorry Blakers that it was a rough one for you. I guess you had to do it for the team though! Your a good dad and we dont want anymore "Bad Dad" essays now do we!
I haven't commented for while, but I love reading all of your posts. Your kids are getting so big and they are so adorable. I hope you make it through the heat of the summer! Are you heading to the burg any time soon?
Brigit, we'll be there the last half of July. Any chance we'll see you at the bowling alley?
