"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"....?
There was snow in front of the fire station last week.
I swear it looked just like snow in the gutter. Most likely it was soap from a high-power wash to keep those fire trucks shiny. But for all the world it looked like snow that had been pushed off the road and was melting there. I drove past it three times just to keep seeing it, once with my kids when school was out.
Christmastime in Arizona is not what I'm used to. The songs on the radio are all about dreaming of White Christmasses and dashing through snow. We definitely don't have picturesque winter scenes to showcase on Christmas cards. I'm not complaining- it was a long, hot summer and I'm glad we can finally play outside again without mosquitoes or sweat. It's just been a big adjustment from my Idaho childhood where we spent the hours building snowmen and snow forts and having Dad pull us in a sled tied to the truck.
Christmas is harder to grasp here. But if I look really hard I can find tell-tale traces.

It just takes a little imagination.

Glad YOU have some imagination because I was feeling a bit down about it NOT feeling at all like Christmas here! Maybe we'll get a little rain or a cloud or something soon.
You're so creative.
Boo! White Christmases all the way! My imagination won't go there because I can feel the sweat accumulating under my arms from the first two pictures. All the same...a Merry Christmas to you and yours.
