Coming this December to a Cabana Near You
By way of formal introduction: It's about time I introduce to the cabana blog our upcoming addition.
No, this wasn't an accident. This new little friend is more like, well, a Saturday's Warrior baby. Early this year I suddenly knew our family was not yet complete and that there was somebody else about to catapult out of heaven to land in utero. My utero! I was more than positive El Utero (La Utera?) closed it's doors over 6 years ago. But as there was no liquidation sale, all functions were viable, and it was surprisingly easy to open up for business, even in this economy.
And so it was that we found out we were expecting. I was SURE this was a boy and I bought him some adorable second-hand boy bedding and a neighbor who was moving brought me a dozen bags of baby boy clothes to keep him fashionably clothed through 2014. I fell in love with the name Hank and set up an exuberant campaign to convince the hubs that this is the coolest name ever, and I told the kids repeatedly that a new brother was on the way.
At 22 weeks, we found out Hank was a girl.
So now we have no bedding, and no two years of baby clothes, and no name- as no girl name has the rad heft and punch as the boy name Hank. Now we are on a quest to find a girl name with a little magic, and it's so hard this time! We have 2 1/2 months to figure it out, as she is set for release on December 5. We are beyond excited to get her here! For me, a solitary sister with four younger brothers, I still can't quite grasp my good fortune of having three girls to raise.
Even at my advanced maternal age.

Such, such, such, good news. I hear you on the advanced maternal age, but being pregnant makes one look about 25. It is all of that blood pumped to the face.
I think that you should name her Jenna. There are not enough of those any more, and I know a really great one.
You are an excellent writer, Jenna. I don't know how you can so easily get your sarcasm across without so much as a single :). Love you.
You're so advanced. I love ya'
How is prego-ness at 37 (38?) going? Aside from tripping on curbs and twisting ankles and such?
You are cute. Hank had me thinking for a bit, but I was starting to get it. I like it!
I always wanted to name a girl Penelope, simply because it rolls of the tongue like a river. The other name I like is Adelaide. My sister has a little niece (other side) whose name is Adelaide Rose and they call her Lady Rose for short. I thought it rather sweet.
Just some ideas to throw around for your sleepless nights!
