Previews

When we were kids we liked the beginning of summer because it means no school. Now as adults we like summer because it means GOOD MOVIES. Blake and I kicked off 2008 Moviefest with Iron Man last weekend. While I loved the flick, the previews were something else. It started with that flick with the guy, you know, from The Office doing funny spy stuff, so we laughed through that as we dug into our popcorn. Then it was that freaky M. Night movie with the falling bodies. One word: disturbing. The Incredible Hulk burst through the screen and tore things up for a while, followed by Will Ferrell and his Stepbrother who just stood there and were funny doing nothing. No one does nothing funnier than Will. A few more scenes of another Will trying but failing to be a good superhero. I was about to stand up to leave after that, having had my visual fill, my $7 popcorn all gone, but then the opening credits started. I had forgotten what I came to see.

Maybe the reason theaters justify charging so much for movies because the trailers are so full of thrills. Not to say Iron Man wasn't exciting. That is one for the big screen, I do recommend attending it and arriving early for the previews.

P.S. you need to stay past the closing credits for an extra surprise.

Happy Movie Watching this summer.

Get Smart: Been waiting for two years for it. Added bonus, "The Rock" and Ann Hathaway.

M. Night falling bodies: The rating made my decision for me.

Incredible Hulk: Edward Norton, really? Of course I'll watch it but jeez was Eric Bana that hard to get again?

Stepbrother: Already posted the trailer on my blog.

Hancock: July 2nd baby. Can't wait.

Can't wait for the movies!
Will you tell me what happened after the credits on Iron Man as I was not aware there was something else and left as soon as the credits began.

P.S. Thanks for the cute b-day card!

I had NO desire to see Hulk until the comment above this mentioned Edward Norton. LOVE him! Ever since he played in that movie where he was in prison and pretended to be crazy in order to get off of murder charges. He totally freaked me out, and to this day I still believe he's probably got multiple personalities.

My favorite is when we take the kids to a 'kid show' and they show adult previews that we have to lean over and cover our kids eyes through. Who needs to talk to their kids about sex? Just take them to the movies and let them preview the 'Sex in the City' movie!

As long as they're all rated 'R', I'm in.
