We got new knives for Christmas. We've always deplored the cheap knives we've had in the past and decided to get some good ones. These are sharp enough. While preparing a salad I lobbed off a chunk of index finger. I found it mingling with cabbage, put it in a sandwich baggie and got it stitched back on with three stitches. It's healing nicely- no lasting damage other than a new psychological distate for chicken ramen salad.

Reminds me of the time when I tried to cut a bagel and nearly sliced my thumb off. It happened on a Sunday morning, which coicidentaly, has a large number of bagel slicing injuries reported for that day. I didn't have any band-aid or any other first aid equipment, so I had to run to Albertsons with my hand in a paper towel.
Ok, now there's proof that you can't Scramble.
Ouch!! But Claire thought the incident was pretty cool. That's what she shared with us in Primary about her week. Although I think she was more excited about being able to eat dinner at Andrea's house and driving around the round-about chasing down Stephanie.
Remind me not to eat salad at your house. ;-)
Ewww...gives me the willies. Are you ok?
good knives!! Did you get the cutco ones? :) What a relief that you could get it sewn back on..now you can teach a Relief Society lesson about "fingers being knit together in unity and love"
I have always wanted some really good knives until now.
Thank you for letting me know where you were...I was one step ahead of you, though. I had already added your fun blog to my friends and family (you can be either). I am thrilled to watch your life unfold and read your commentary.
I think it's ironic that your latest article "What I learned from working at Wendy's" is right next to "Severed Digit".
Okay so maybe not really ironic but it's kind of funny, right?
OUCH!!! You poor thing! Is that gonna stop you from going to the Sweetheart's Valentine Dance tonight at the church? Want to combine kids & go together?
Je...nna...phone....home....
Um Gross! But I hope you are healing well.
