Date night Friday. 6:30 p.m. Kids punch-drunk at the Parhams' house, our perfect date-night swap in mid-swing. Blake and I decided to have a peaceful night at home, eating seven pounds of pizza and breadsticks while watching
Seven Pounds uninterrupted. Before we take a bite there is an urrrrch-creeek and a motor purr.
Our sod was here!... Already? We had expected a midnight delivery so we could wake up early Saturday and get to work.
So now the dilemma: let it sit outside vulnerable to elements and people that steal stuff, or lay it. It got laid.
It wasn't how we anticipated, but we got some
major action on our date night.

We all loved waking up to green living stuff in the backyard.
Our Butterfly is trying to be patient but is anxious to cartwheel on it.

Under economic duress Blake's company decided to shut down on Fridays. He's had two Fridays off: the first one was entirely spent on Pinewood Derby prep. The second was spent on sod prep. Maybe next week he'll get a real day off?

ooooooooooooohhhhh, the grass looks great! Let me know the secret to having a productive date night..... or even how to get a date night.
Yahoo! It looks amazing. Now my kids will REALLY never want to leave your house.
Yeah for sod. Isn't great to have something green in the backyard instead of all that dust. I can't wait till your kids get to play on it. We have been spending the evenings in the backyard this week. So nice.
Sweet pinewood derby car!
Cool! Looks pretty green!
Wahoo! That looks awesome. I'm coming to visit...someday. :-)
Nothing quite as fun as laying sod! And it sounds like it turned out good to do it without the kiddies around.
When can we come and see the cute grand kids and lawn?
Too bad Blake will only cut the grass when he's mow-tivated...ha.
At least something got laid. hee hee hee.
Nice car/shuttle Conner!
