I'll take a thousand toys...and world peace.

This year a motivated me shopped early and "finished" Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving. Then I overheard Young Padawan tell Santa he wants a Webkinz. What!? This had never come up before. I checked his stocking for a note. Sure enough, Webkinz placed prominantly on the list...actually he wrote a request for 80 Webkinz. I'm sure he thought, "Why not? I mean, since you're askin'."

The stockings and lapsittings of other believers in our home brought to my attention listings of other previously unmentioned desirables. A kid's gotta get something specific from the Santa list, right? That's kind of the cardinal rule of Christmas.

This year I learned something about shopping early.
It really just means you shop longer.

So true! I cannot figure out which is worse: last minute buying things that cost too much, and are not needful, due to my panic, or shopping early, and finding more and more things to get, each one better than the last.

That first picture will go down in history as one of the greats. Love it.

And I've also learned that the sales just keep getting better the longer you wait! I spent some time Saturday, returning gifts and then rebuying them at the new sale price! I got lots of money back!

Agreed! I thought I was done, then just keep buying "one more thing." I think I'll go back to my procrastinating ways next year!
