Good Riddance, June

June was no fun this year. June is hot. June is boring. Seriously. If we hadn't had the free lunches at the school everyday (thank you, government, for your "summer nutrition program" that kept mac and cheese consumption at bay),

and if it wasn't for the swimming, swimming, swimming,
and the Netflix streaming entertainment flowage through the Wii
and air conditioning
I may not have survived June's society at all.

June brought sad things this year. June put too many friends in moving vans and drove them out of sight. Early in the month a friend of mine lost her husband to a complication from gall bladder surgery. It was tragic and unexpected, but I'm more convinced than ever that the gospel of Jesus Christ provides more hope and joy than any other religion.

So I didn't feel like blogging in June. I just didn't have much to say. I thought about stuff and applied a lot of sunscreen to a lot of flesh. And that was June.

I'm glad July is coming tomorrow. July is taking us on a long road trip towards cousins, grandmas, grandpas, and long evenings that are so fun even the sun doesn't want to go to bed until late.

I always liked that July.

Yay for summer nutrition programs (even though burritos, hamburgers, and pizza, are not the MOST nutritious, it gets us out and to the playground).

I am sad that I saw this post too late. I mistakenly thought that we had one more day in June...one more day to finish my visiting teaching.

I love that you are back.

Ahh. Your poor friend. I hope she is hanging in there.

I think May, June, July, August, or September in Arizona is beyond miserable.

Have fun in Idaho!

Our June was cold. Very cold. I'm hoping July brings a little warmth and sunshine with it! And I hope you have a fantastic trip! And, as always, if you find a little free time on your hands with nothing to do.....we'd love to see you!
