There's this bridge everyone has been talking about, a bypass that just opened last week. Traffic is now diverted away from Hoover Dam- which is excellent cuz dam! those tourists and those dam winding roads increased the trip to Vegas by at least a half-hour. It took eight years to construct, spans 1,900 feet, and cost $240 million plus the life of a construction worker. It's very impressive to behold, especially to the engineer husband that is mine. We watched it go up over the years and were amazed at the innovation.
But, frankly, I'm more impressed by bridges God made.
They are environment-friendly. Biodegradable. Green. Does the Hoover Dam bypass have a waterfall on top? Noooooo.
Oh, look!- some of God's creations enjoying God's creations.
I definitely prefer this kind of bridge, the kind moth nor rust can't corrupt. I'm thankful to Heavenly Father for designing it for us- an engineering project that didn't increase taxes or harm anyone in it's construction. Now that is an engineering wonder.

I've been there! I loved it too. We need to get together it seems like forever!
It's funny that most of our 'environmentally friendly' friends and neighbors aren't really the religious type. When really, Heavenly Father is the greenest guy of all!
Looks cool. Where is that?
It should be on the History Channel's Modern Marvels.
It's super close to Payson. You can google it or of course call me for directions and then we can gossip about Maricopans of mutual interest :)
BRIDGES ARE AWESOME!!!

Whose dam idea was that anyways? ;)
We're heading towards the first dam come Christmas time. Any family fun ideas for Vegas around then?
Ha! I couldn't agree more. Why places like this aren't packed like Hoover Dam is beyond me (the happy me that likes to be alone in nature).
Looks awesome Jenna--glad you had a great time.
