My food storage is prettier than yours.

I got a part-time job. Less than part, really, more like a slight-time job. Every Friday and a couple Saturdays a month, I get to dress in real clothes, meet and visit with all kinds of interesting people, and take a lunch hour. Before this job I hadn't taken a lunch hour since the 1900's when I worked at Walmart in Rexburg. My last lunch break was the day before my first baby was born.

It's nice to have a job that offers lunch breaks, since I rarely break for lunch when I'm not working. I love this job. I work at Honeyville Farms in Chandler, AZ. It's a food storage/emergency preparation type of store and I'm learning all kinds of handy things and spending all kinds of more money than I actually earn. But it's food storage so totally justifiable.

Ever heard of freeze-dried fruits and veggies? Honeyville Farms is famous for them. They're like dehydrated, but much better because all the nutrients are preserved, and nothing is added to them. I recently picked up this cookbook (shown above) and was able to make pretty little meals out of all those veggies, adding spices, noodles, or rice, or whatever else the recipe calls for. It's a great little kit for a quick, delicious dinner.

With an oxygen absorber added, they will stay fresh in your pantry for up to five years. Plus they're pretty.

Gosh, no pressure at all. Maybe YOU should be Relief Society President. Seriously though, they are beautiful!

Wow! What a great job! We just spent lots of money from our tax return, beefing up our food storage. But we saved a little, for the next time we get down to our Honeyville in Utah. Except with all the snow, I'm wondering if I ought to just head down to your Honeyville!

Good...finally, a food storage expert in the family...we are in need of a tutorial! I have really been wanting cuter as well as more functional food storage! Is there a website we can shop from or a price list we can get from you?

Oh wow! I love this. I NEED this. You're food storage is definitely prettier than mine.

Can you break down some of this for me on your blog? Like I want to know how much one of those little jars comes up to...and since you're in the bid-ness and don't want to delve all the secrets...maybe just post ONE of the recipes (with a link to the book).

si seniora?

Diddo Amber and Mrs. Olsen comments. I need tutorials! Mom showed me the book she bought while she was down there and it looked really good. I just don't know where to start!

Jenna, I adore you. :-) You can always make me smile. One day I might find that I can be funny and awesome like you...until then, thanks for your great inspiration! :-) I may have to borrow that nifty book of yours...or have you at least tell me the title. I see family Christmas gifts in the future...How fun!
