Huntington Beach

After swarming with the Disney hordes, it was nice to relax at the beach before our drive home.

Having had little experience with afternoons at beaches, we were ill-prepared for the outing. Luckily, we had a blanket in the van for use at the hotel, but we had no shovels, buckets, or worst of all, towels. So the kids played in the sand like cave-kids of old: with nothing but the use of their hands to build sandy castles. Probably cave-kids had crude toys for castle-building, assuming cave children went to the beach on family outings.

Despite the lack of preparation by the parentals,

Beloved was The Beach.

At least we brought the camera.

The sand in our nethers during the 7-hour drive home?

Not bliss.

GREAT pictures. Especially that first one. Nice camera, eh? Evan's funny. He sounds like he grew up on the beach!
