special delivery

I'm smiling because I just had my easiest delivery ever. It was probably the longest one actually, but for most of it I was dozing in an epidural-ial state of coziness. I had been scheduled for an induction the morning before, but as there was no room at the inn we were put on hold. I'm not sure exactly how a bed becomes available at midnight, but as I was desperate to get this all over with, I asked few questions and somehow got Blake awake enough to drive us there. Poor kid had only been asleep for an hour when the phone rang.

With Holland there was no epidural. I will tell you this much: I didn't smile like this when that was over. Mmmm, epidurals are good friends.

It took all night, just waiting. Blake snored in the recliner next to me, but if you ask him, he will say he didn't sleep all night. A lady screamed and yelled in the delivery room next to me for several hours.  She should have had an epidural.

Shortly after my doctor broke my water and then went to lunch, as did my nurse, it was definitely time to push. So everyone left their sandwiches half-eaten to make it back in time for three big pushes. And then Jovie was here!

And oh she is a love.

We are so grateful to get her here safely. She is much adored by four sibs adamant for equal cuddle time.
