It's always a treat when Grandma and grandpa come to town. This year they went to the Rose Bowl parade. It was something grandma has wanted to do her whole life. After that they came to spend a few days with us. They brought us Christmas presents! It was fun to have Christmas in January.
While they were here we put out the fire pit that I gave Blake for Christmas. We made s'mores in January. That is why it's nice to live in Arizona.
Of course we played lots of games too. Conner got out his new days of wonder game. We also played rummy of course. I lost by over 400 points. I haven't started out the year very lucky.
Grandma and grandpa are easy company and we wish that they could stay up much much longer. We tried to talk them into getting a winter home here in Arizona. Maybe one day. But they're worried that as soon as they do that we would leave and go back their direction. Which isn't super likely but possible I guess.
Grandma has a nice flowery smell and for over a week after she left the bedroom that she stayed in smelled like grandma. I think she does on purpose so that we will miss her.
Grandpa always does lots of projects for us when he comes here. I like to have a list for him because he doesn't know what to do with himself if he's not working. He changed the light bulb on the microwave for us, fixed a squeaky door, swept out our garage, and dumped all of the garbages is in the house. Grandma organized all of my piano music for me to fixed some books that were missing covers. Seriously. If we would've had them for a full week maybe all those bikes would've gotten fixed and my craft room would make sense.
Their visit was the best possible kickoff for this brand new year.
