One Week Under Her Trendy Belt

Our Butterfly been a third-grader for one week. It started off ok, but why wouldn't it...

with a such a great hair day and cool new shoes?

She only said, "My stomach hurts," once during the morning of her first day (her anxiety-o-meter is located somewhere in the abdominal region) and a hug was all she needed. This is a huge step up from 2nd grade, when I had to administer tic-tacs as a placebo drug to calm her frequent "stomache aches." And this is a massive step forward from 1st Grade, when, during the first week I actually locked her out of the van at drop-off and left her screaming in the street. (I did come back for her later and walk her to her class: I'm not that mean.) So our little girl is growing up and combatting new situations better and better. We have yet to LOVE third-grade, but her stomach didn't hurt at all this morning, so things must be settling in her favor.

Just wait until you have to literally pry the Wii remote out of Rafe's cold, dead hands...

Do those shoes come in adult sizes? And nice hairdo! Glad to hear school is going okay. I think Tom and Rafe ARE going to go through some serious video game withdrawl next year.

Hey, it must be your left handedness to come up with such a creative hair style. You were really thinking out side the box on that one...fancy...

On a lighter note, my moms blog is a link on mine so just click on "moms" in my blog list and leave her a comment!

What a fancy hairdo! I think you'll have to teach us all your tricks. One of them being how you got her to stand still while you did it. :)

Hey you girl. It was so nice of you to spend a few minutes on the Dillard blog. Your kids are so cute and big. Looks like AZ is treating you all well. I like the tic-tac idea and might have to use the one on Luke. He has struggled a little big the last two days. Hope to comment on a regular basis.
