Life Just Got an Upgrade.

Finally! We got a new van. After years of being in denial that our purple raisin of a van will always be a lemon, we finally understood it would always be a lemon. It was back at Gonzo's for another repair when we were told that some other major repairs would be coming up. Time to unload it and make it someone else's problem. We began seaching Craig's List which ultimately led us to this 2005 Honda Odyssey.

Our Dutch Baby is thrilled with the new wheels. She was embarrassed to be seen in the old Dodge Caravan.

Padawan is most happy about the fact that we haven't taken Star Wars II out of the DVD player since it first got put in last week.

Perhaps the only one not thrilled with the whole situation is the old van. It's not allowed to sleep in the garage anymore and has to spend all day in the hot sun. I think I heard it whimpering in the storm the other night. No one pays any attention to it anymore except maybe to kick it when they walk past. It's intimidated by the new pet. I woke up early Saturday to drive it over to a neighbor's who was having a garage sale, hoping we could sell it there. It wouldn't start. It died of a broken heart.

This same thing happened to our ancient Chevy Corsica when Blake brought home the Honda Civic. Two days later Blake found it in the parking lot after work: dead and disemboweled. Someone had even siphoned the gas out of it. We couldn't revive it. We called Kars for Kids and they came and hauled it away. May it rest in peace.
